Lanterns of love to light Lynbrook Village Pool

On Oct. 13, children will have the opportunity to write inspirational messages on lanterns and watch them float in the pool fat the village’s first Love Lynbrook Water Launch event.

The outing will feature food trucks, music and games. “It’s a great event, good fun and everyone will have a good time,” said Patrick McDermott, the Lynbrook parks supervisor.

Mayor Alan Beach decided to bring the event to Lynbrook after he attended a similar outing in Port Washington earlier this year. He then instructed McDermott to plan the event.

“Bringing this event to Lynbrook gives kids the opportunity to express themselves and brings the community, friends and family together,” Beach said.

The Love Lynbrook Water Launch is planned for Oct. 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the village pool.
