Local pool hall shoots to raise money for Island Park Fire Department

The Island Park Fire Department is in the midst of its annual fundraising drive and on Aug. 28 at 7 p.m., The Hub Billiard Club is hosting a “Pool and Pork Dinner” promotion to help its cause.

For only $5, participants get a slow-cooked pork or chicken entrée, assorted side dishes and free pool table time all night. There will be giveaways and a 50/50 raffle with the proceeds going to the IPFD.

“The folks from the fire house do an amazing job in our community,” said Brad Turner, owner of The Hub Billiard Club. “We are expecting about 75 people, so we hope to raise some decent money and have lots of fun in the process.”

All ages are welcome; however, tickets are limited and are required to be purchased in advance. Tickets are available by visiting The Hub Billiard Club or can be purchased online at www.TheHubBC.com

The Hub Billiard Club is Long Island’s only upscale pool hall and live music venue. It boasts 21 regulation pool tables, two full-service bars and hosts live music Thursday through Saturday. The Hub is open seven days a week from noon to 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
