Centennial Dinner Dance held at Elks Lodge

The Village of Lynbrook’s year-long celebration of its 100th year of incorporation culminated in a festive gala, The 100th Anniversary Dinner Dance, held on March 12 at the Lynbrook Elks Lodge.

Speeches were made, old aquaintances were reunited, and Lynbrook was remembered and honored in the beautifully-decorated room.

Residents and friends danced to the music of Zembko, a Long Island- based band. The food was lavishly prepared by Tom Koerning, official caterer of the Elks Lodge #1. The Sweet Peace bake shop donated the cake, and Stefan’s Flowers donated all of the floral arrangements for the evening.

The Lynbrook Centennial Committee planned the event: Carol Burak, Flo Brooks, Peg Smith, and Eleanor deNeufville. More events are planned in the coming months to celebrate the village’s centennial.
