Lynbrook Elks Club hosts disabled veterans

The Elks Club in Lynbrook hosted its annual dinner and show for disabled veterans from the area. The members served a delicious roast beef dinner, and entertained the crowd with a musical tribute to Billy Joel.

Comedy skits were sprinkled throughout the show, and as a grand and moving finale, the song from each branch of the service was played as a disabled member of that branch came to the front of the room and stood at attention. The last song was "God Bless America," and everyone joined in before shaking hands good bye.

Before they left, the audience was given a chance to vote on what theme they would like for next year's event -- and they chose "Doo Wop" 50's music.
