Lynbrook's Senior Citizens Club looking for new members

Lynbrook’s Senior Citizens Club is looking for new members, after 18 of its members either moved away or died, Carol Burak announced at Lynbrook’s board of trustees meeting on Aug. 20.

Burak said that when she became involved in the club about four years ago, it had close to 80 members. But now, she said, there are only about 60.

The club meets weekly from September through June at the Lynbrook Recreation Department. Activities include card games, luncheons and lectures. “It’s a gathering place for them,” Burak said.

To encourage more members to join, the club plans to host an open house on Oct. 3. All Lynbrook and East Rockaway residents are encouraged to come and learn more about the club. “There’s something for everyone,” Burak said.
