Malverne co-ed inducted into prestigious society

Last month, Malverne resident Kimberly Birch was inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society at the University of Delaware, where she completing her senior year as a psychology major.

“It is only fitting that a top academic achiever like Kimberly be recognized by Golden Key,” said John W. Mitchell, Golden Key’s chief executive officer. “Our members are inspired and motivated to not only achieve exceptional academic accomplishments, but also make a positive impact on our world through the Society’s commitment to leadership and service.”

Golden Key International Honour Society provides academic recognition, among other things, including scholarships and internships, to top-performing college and university students.

Kimberly, who attended Holy Trinity High School in Hicksville and expects to graduate from the University of Delaware in May 2011, was congratulated by U.S. Sen. Thomas Carper (D-Delaware) upon her induction into the honor society in a new-member recognition ceremony at the university on Dec. 6.
