Malverne/West Hempstead Herald seeks summer intern

    The Malverne-West Hempstead Herald will provide an intern with a valuable opportunity to learn firsthand the challenges and rewards of reporting and publishing community news, writing feature stories and communicating information that people can use.
    The intern's first priority will be helping with the revision of the Malverne and West Hempstead Almanac and Newcomer's Guide. Responsibilities will include fact checking, updating and freshening the Guide for 2010. We will also give a select college student who has an interest in community journalism the chance to discover what it’s like to work in the newspaper and information-delivery field. The intern may be exposed to all aspects of newspaper operations, including reporting and editing. The internship is unpaid.
    This internship is available immediately.
