Police are on the scene after a 75-year-old man was struck by a Ford pickup while crossing Merrick Ave. on Tuesday afternoon.

A 75-year-old man was struck by a 2008 Ford pickup truck Tuesday at 3:13 p.m.while crossing eastbound on Merrick Avenue in front of Pat’s Farms.
The North Merrick Fire Department transported the victim, who suffered broken legs and arms as well as inter-cranial bleeding, to a local hospital. He is listed in critical condition.
Part of Merrick Avenue was blocked off following the accident while detectives investigated the scene. No charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
