Man dies after hitting tree on Charles Lindbergh Boulevard

A 31-year-old man is dead after a collision forced his car into a tree.

Nassau County Police Department investigators say the man was driving a 2012 Hyundai just after 2 p.m. on Monday east on Charles Lindbergh Boulevard, when he collided with a 2009 Honda Accord.

The Hyundai left the roadway, striking a tree — killing the driver, according to the Uniondale Fire Department.

Two other people in the Hyundai — a man and a woman — were taken to a nearby hospital where they were listed in stable condition. Police have not released any identities of those involved.

The Honda driver and his passenger refused medical treatment, but remained at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
