Man nearly drowns at N. Bellmore party

A 49-year-old man nearly drowned at a private party in North Bellmore on the night of July 3, Nassau County police said. The man was attending a small house party at a home on Liberty Avenue when he was found floating face down in the shallow end of an in-ground pool. Another guest at the party pulled the victim from the pool and performed CPR while waiting for the police. At press time, there was no word why the incident occurred.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he was placed in the Critical Care Unit on life support. At press time, he remained in critical condition, according to police, who were withholding the victim's name while notifying his family.
