Kathleen Kennedy, Mercy Medical Center’s senior director of imaging and physician support services, has received the 2010 Patrick J. Scollard Award for Leadership from Catholic Health Services of Long Island.

The annual award honors an employee within the Catholic Health Services system who has demonstrated exemplary leadership skills and commitment to his or her facility, CHS, and the communities they serve.

Kennedy, who lives in Valley Stream, was recognized for coordinating the major upgrade and modernization of Mercy’s radiology and imaging facilities and services while continually motivating, teaching, mentoring and setting an example of commitment, integrity and knowledge to both those who report to her and those to whom she reports.

Kennedy joined Mercy in December 2005 as director of Radiology & Imaging following 16 years at the Hospital For Special Surgery in Manhattan. She was appointed to her current in September 2008, with additional responsibilities involving cardiovascular services as well as overseeing the ongoing development of various physician support programs.
