Kevin Breen, 20, of Merrick, was killed in a car accident on the morning of Sunday, March 18, while driving on I-99 in Worth Township in Centre County, Pa., according to Pennsylvania State Police. Ian Richardson, 22, from Hamburg, N.Y., the lone passenger in the vehicle, sustained moderate injuries in the accident.

Police said that Breen, the vehicle operator, was driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee south on I-99 at 10:15 a.m., when his vehicle veered out of the left lane and onto a gravel berm. While trying to return to the road, police said, Breen lost control of his vehicle, which slid counterclockwise. The vehicle rolled over numerous times across the median into the northbound lane, coming to a rest on the east gravel berm, facing southeast.

The two men were rushed to Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College by an ambulance. Breen was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, and Richardson was treated for his injuries. Both Breen and Richardson were wearing seat belts, according to police.
