Students at Merrick Avenue Middle School recently participated in a Crazy Hat Day. Each student who wore a crazy hat donated money to support a cure for juvenile diabetes. In all, MAMS raised more than $500.
The day after Halloween, under the direction of the Student Government, students collected candy for U.S. soldiers overseas. Several hundred pounds of candy will be donated to soldiers to hand out to children.
