Merrick Game Stop robbed at gunpoint

Two men robbed the Merrick Game Stop at gunpoint early on Tuesday morning, according to Nassau County police.

Officials said that two men entered the store, at 2212 Sunrise Highway, at about 12:45 a.m., armed with a handgun. They ordered the two store employees to lay face down behind the counter, before they were forced to crawl to the back room, where their hands were bound with charger cables and tape.

The two men stole cash, game consoles and assorted games before running out the back door, heading southbound on Henry Street, and driving off in an unknown vehicle, police said.

The store employees were able to untie themselves and notify police. No injuries were reported.

The two suspects were described as African-American, 5-foot-10 and thin. One suspect wore a black mask, black hooded sweatshirt and black pants, and the other wore a baseball cap, a black bandana across his face, a black shirt and blue jeans.
