Molloy announced a record fundraising total for its 2018 Gala, which was held at the campus’s Madison Theatre on Nov. 2. The purpose of the annual event is to raise funds to support student scholarships.
“I’m pleased that we raised more than $675,000 for our scholarship fund,” said Edward J. Thompson, vice president of advancement at Molloy. “The response to this event shows the passion our supporters have for Molloy and, specifically, our students.”
The event honored three Rockville Centre residents, including Elizabeth and Christopher Boylan, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Valerie Collins who was a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award, among others.
“Our honorees this year represent what is so wonderful about not only Molloy, but the greater Long Island community,” said Drew Bogner, Molloy’s president. “We talk about the importance of everyone living their story at Molloy, and these honorees are great examples of people who have done just that.”
Salvatore Ciampo and Laura Farahani served as the gala’s co-chairwomen, and Cynthia Metzger, director of corporate relations, managed the event. The Midtown Men, which featured four members from the original cast of Broadway’s “Jersey Boys,” provided the evening’s entertainment. The singers thrilled the audience with a medley of hits from the 1960s.
