Musical Adventures
Classical masterworks can be enjoyed in a family friendly atmosphere at the annual Long Island Mozart Festival. Old Westbury Gardens is the venue for music, garden tours, and much more – designed to appeal to all ages. New events this year include a children’s music fair and interactive concerts for families. The Mainstage concerts feature renowned violinist Anna Rabinova and flutist extraordinaire, Lance Suzuki, with the LI Mozart Festival Chamber Orchestra conducted by Daniel Boico, assistant conductor of the New York Philharmonic. Other performances include violinist Anastasia Khitruk, and the Kende Trio.

Sit back and enjoy films from the 2010 Brooklyn Film Festival’s kidsfilmfest at this weekend’s “2010 Festival Replay.” Watch what happens when a pigeon takes the wheel of a bus in “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus” and see how Turtle Thompson works up the nerve to ask his crush to a dance in “Love Bug.”

Belmont Stakes Countdown

World Of Horses
As the days draw near to that equine quest for glory that is the Belmont Stakes on June 11, the fun begins with the annual pre-Stakes event known as the “World of Horses.” The Parade of Breeds opens the day on the main track, with both popular and little-known breeds of horses. Led by the Nassau County Mounted Unit, the parade features area riders and a wide variety of breeds. Exhibitions on the main track follow each race and include reining, dressage, and more.
