Chants of “NHP,” “HFC,” “FPM,” “Sewan” and “Elmont” echoed through the H. Frank Carey gymnasium on March 4, as seniors from all five high schools competed in a series of events at the Sewanhaka Central High School District’s 33rd Annual Sports Night.

The evening began with the students presenting posters they made, featuring the theme “New Beginnings.” They then faced-off in several relay races, a cage volleyball tournament, an obstacle course and a tug of war, with dance routines interspersed throughout the night.

By the end, Superintendent James Grossane announced that New Hyde Park Memorial High School came in first-place for the third year in a row.
