New Northwell facility under construction in Lynbrook

A new, 23,000-square-foot Northwell Health facility being built on the corner of Sunrise Highway and Peninsula Boulevard will replace the old Long Island Water building in the summer of 2018.

“We’re establishing a multi-care facility,” said Deborah Schiff, the senior vice president of ambulatory strategy and business development for Northwell Health.

The facility will have departments for different medical issues, including a primary care physician, surgical technicians and outpatient services. It is expected to employ between 16 to 18 physicians, and from 55 to 60 other employees, including technicians and clerical staff.

According to Schiff, Northwell decided to build the new facility because the company did not have many facilities in southwestern Nassau County. “It’s an area we saw a need for medical services,” she said.

The Northwell Health facility will take most major insurance providers, Schiff added. For more information call the Clinical Coordination Center at 1-855-DRACCESS.
