North Merrick celebrates the start of school with picnics

The North Merrick School District held its annual back-to-school picnics on Sept. 14 at each of its three elementary schools — Camp Avenue, Fayette and Old Mill Road.
To celebrate the start of the 2012-13 school year, children, parents and faculty members partook in food, drinks, games and crafts under sunny weather on school grounds.
The Herald was at Camp Avenue School to catch the action.
