North Merrick gas station robbed at gunpoint

A Valero gas station on Jerusalem Avenue in North Merrick was robbed at gunpoint on the evening of Nov. 29, according to Nassau County Police.

Authorities say that a 57-year-old attendant was behind the counter at the gas station when two men entered the store at 9:45 p.m. One of the suspects, who was described as African-American, six feet tall and 200 pounds, with long dreadlocks and glasses, pulled out a handgun and demanded money. The second suspect was described as six feet tall and 260 pounds, with glasses and a mask.

Both suspects jumped behind the counter, grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and ran west from the station toward Meadowbrook Road. No injuries were reported, and the attendant was the only employee in the station at the time.
