Dr. David Fagan assumed the responsibilities of acting chairman of the pediatrics department at Nassau University Medical Center announced NuHealth System President Arthur Gianelli.

“We are delighted that a physician with Dr. Fagan’s leadership qualities and expertise in the field of pediatrics will be taking over the responsibilities of leading the pediatrics departments and overseeing all the specialty divisions within the department of pediatrics,” said Gianelli. “Dr. Fagan will be an exceptional leader among our team.”

Fagan served as residency program director for the pediatrics department at NUMC. He earned his medical degree from SUNY-Stony Brook School of Medicine in 1996 and completed his residency in pediatrics at the Babies and Children’s Hospital of Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. Fagan also served as associate program director for pediatrics at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx before joining NUMC in 2010.

“I’m delighted to have been appointed as acting chair of the department of pediatrics at NUMC and look forward to leading the dedicated professionals in the department to further our mission of providing quality care to Nassau’s vulnerable pediatric population,” Fagan said.

Fagan resides in Long Beach with his wife, Jacqueline and two children, Jack and Meredith.
