fresh off the bus at School 6 in Oceanside, was ready to start her first day of kindergarten as soon as she walked in the door. A contingent of teachers and staff were on-hand to greet arriving students, who sported name tags so they could be grouped with their teachers and classmates.

It’s finally time: kids in Oceanside and Island Park headed back to school last week (Sept. 6 for Oceanside and Sept. 7 for Island Park).
Other than the Lincoln Orens Middle School gym in Island Park, the buildings were mostly undamaged by the recent rain, and classes were able to begin as scheduled — much to the dismay of some kids
