Oceanside schools delay opening

Due to road conditions after Thursday's nor'easter, the Rockville Centre School District has instituted a delayed opening for Friday, Feb. 14.

Schools will open exactly two hours later than usual, and private and parochial school buses will also be delayed by two hours. Afternoon dismissals and bus schedules will remain unchanged.

School 6 will open at 11:30 a.m., and bus pickups will begin at 10:45 a.m. Kindergarten valet drop-off will begin at 11:10 a.m.

Schools 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 9E will open at 1:15 a.m., and bus pickups will begin at 9:40 a.m.

Oceanside Middle School will open at 9:40 a.m., and first bus pickups will begin at 9:05 a.m.

Oceanside High School will open at 9:45 a.m., and first bus pickups will being at 9:07 a.m.

Breakfast and morning C.A.R.E.S. programs are cancelled. The 8:30 to 11 a.m. Pre-K session is also cancelled. All other sessions begin at 10:30 a.m. and will end at their regular time.
