Nassau County police revealed on Jan. 10 that the Christmas Eve heist at the Oceanside Costco had netted the two suspects in the investigation around $92,000 in jewelry.

Along with the dollar figure, police released a new image from store surveillance footage of one of the suspected burglars.

Police had earlier reported that they responded to an alarm at the Hampton Road wholesale store at 10:57 p.m. on Dec. 24 and upon arrival noticed a plastic display case containing jewelry had been pried open and its contents removed. Police said that after a search, they did not find anyone in the building.

Detectives reported that store surveillance footage showed a six-foot white, bearded man wearing all-black clothes prying the display case open before loading the jewelry into a blue bag and leaving the store, heading in an unknown direction. The other suspect, also described as roughly six-feet tall, and wearing a black leather coat was seen with the bearded man, walking around the display case. He too was then seen leaving the store, heading in an unknown direction.

The investigation is ongoing. Police ask that if anyone has information regarding the burglary to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-8477.
