Police make second arrest in teen robbery case

Nassau County Police are reporting a second arrest in a case in which two Uniondale teenagers allegedly held up two other teens at gunpoint in Merrick on July 2.

On July 10, detectives arrested and charged Shadrach Ford, 16, of Northern Parkway in Uniondale, with two counts of robbery in the first degree, two counts of robbery in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

On July 3, police had arrested 15-year-old Matthew Delvalle, also of Uniondale, and charged him with committing the armed robbery the day before.

According to police, Ford and Delvalle allegedly held up two 16-year-old boys on Williams Street in Merrick, holding a gun to one boy's neck and demanding money and property. The pair made off with the teens' wallets and cell phones and fled north on Williams Street on BMX bikes.

Delvalle was charged as a juvenile offender with two counts of robbery, a B and C felony. He was ordered held on $100,000 bail.
