Police: Merrick woman drove 100 mph while drunk

State police arrested a Merrick woman on the Meadowbrook Parkway at 2 a.m. on Oct. 20 and charged her with driving while intoxicated.

According to police, troopers stopped a blue Nissan driven by Danielle Rosenthal, 21, of Edith Place, for speeding. At the time, police said, she was doing 100 mph in a 55 mph zone. While interviewing Rosenthal, troopers said they detected a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. Rosenthal failed sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for DWI.

Rosenthal was charged with DWI and speeding. At press time, she was due in Nassau County's First District Court.
