Police rescue woman trapped in car by branches, wires

Denise Giammarino, of North Bellmore, was driving on Martin Avenue in Bellmore when a large tree branch suddenly crashed through the electrical and power lines below it and onto her car on Feb. 16. She reportedly called 911 right away, but hung up because she was so frightened. A passerby later called Nassau County police. Officers Ronald Curaba and Christopher Lettieri, of the 1st Precinct, responded and safely removed Giammarino from her vehicle.
