Police searching for burglary suspect

Police are searching for an individual they believe burglarized an East Meadow diner two months ago.

Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County Police Department officials are seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual caught on camera in December. They said the person is connected to a crime that occurred at the Empress Diner, at 2490 Hempstead Turnpike.

At about 3 a.m. on Dec. 1, police said three Hispanic men were at the diner. While inside, police said they pried open a locked office door — causing $100 in damage — and stole money. The men left the restaurant through the basement side door, according to officials.

Crime Stoppers leaders are asking anyone who can identify the subject, or with any information about this crime, to call their toll free hotline at (800) 244-TIPS (8477). All calls will remain anonymous, officials noted.
