Police seek information about Lakeview robbery

Detectives with the Fifth Squad are investigating a robbery that occurred on Wednesday, March 30, at 12:25 a.m. in Lakeview, and they are seeking the public’s help.

According to police, a 41-year-old pizza delivery man was delivering an order to a home on Dekoven Street when a black man wearing eyeglasses approached him and attempted to the pay for the pizza with a $100 bill.

When the delivery man said he did not have change, two more black men approached him, one brandishing a handgun, and demanded his cash, according to police. One of the suspects then allegedly punched the victim in the face before all three took the pizza and an unknown amount of cash and fled on foot southbound on Dekoven Street.

Police said the $100 bill, which was recovered at the scene, was determined to be counterfeit.

All three suspects are described on as black men with large builds.

The victim suffered pain to his face, but refused medical attention at the scene.
