PTA thanks Rockville Centre school board members

Members of the Rockville Centre school board — President Liz Dion, Vice President Stephen Kriss, Secretary Mark Masin and trustees John O’Shea and Gregg Spaulding — were honored during the Board of Education meeting on Oct. 26.

“Thank you for the time you devote to this community,” said PTA Council co-president Kathy Baxley, on behalf of the PTA. “Thank you for everything you do.”

In his remarks about the board, school Superintendent Dr. William Johnson commented on the very important work the volunteer trustees perform.

“They work tirelessly on behalf of the students, parents and taxpayers in the community,” Johnson said, noting that they wrestle with difficult financial and legal problems while keeping the best interest of every single child in mind.

“At the bottom of their hearts,” Johnson said, “what they’re really and truly concerned about…is how they educate the children of this community.”
