John Busching, 1st Assistant Chief of the Rockville Centre Fire Department, was recognized for his valor at the Town of Hempstead’s annual Firematic Awards last month. Accompanied by his son, Joe, a 6th grader, Busching received a proclamation from Supervisor Kate Murray for his life-saving rescue of an elderly woman and her home health aid during a fire at 200 N. Village Ave. in late June.
