Relay for Life in Lynbrook

Posted

Lynbrook South Middle School hosted the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life” on May 21. Rallying dozens of people, there were a number of special activities, beginning with a survivor dinner and opening

ceremony.

Survivors walked in a special lap before the relay began, and later, participants watched as illuminated bags bearing the names of those who fought cancer were released into the sky. Several groups, such as the Lynbrook High School Kickline, entertained the crowd, and raffles were given out. Tens of thousands of dollars were raised for cancer awareness.
