Roadwork on the Southern State Parkway between Exit 19 Peninsula Boulevard, above, and Exit 20 Franklin Avenue will result in midday lane closures.

Road safety improvements being performed during the day beginning Aug. 10 will close a single travel lane in the eastbound and/or westbound direction of the Southern State Parkway between Franklin Avenue/Exit 20 and Peninsula Boulevard/Exit 19 Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., according to the Department of Transportation. This is expected to continue for about six weeks.
The overhead INFORM and roadside electronic signs will make motorists aware of the closings in advance. Drivers are strongly urged to use alternative routes to avoid delays. Motorists are reminded to drive carefully through the work zone.
