Arrests

Mark A. Mastauskas, 37, of N. Park Avenue was arrested on April 14 at 5:20 p.m. at Rockville Centre Police Department headquarters and charged with aggravated harassment for allegedly making threatening phone calls to a former neighbor on Maple Avenue.

Enrique D. Moya, 21, of Dutch Broadway, Elmont was arrested at 2:03 a.m. on April 15 and charged with criminal mischief and an open bench warrant for petit larceny after police say they saw him damaging the side view mirror of a vehicle parked near 51 Lincoln Ave.

Deni M. Rodriquez, 26, of S. Centre Avenue, was arrested at 2:55 a.m. on April 15 on Merrick Road by Rockville Centre anti-crime officers and charged with an assault that allegedly occurred on Feb. 12.

Assault

On April 15, a worker from Cabo Restaurant, 3 N. Park Ave., reported having a dispute with a co-worker that resulted in an assault. The suspect ran from the restaurant and the victim was treated at Mercy Medical Center for minor injuries to his head and face.

Larcenies

On April 12, a S. Park Avenue resident told police that between April 11 at 10 a.m. and 10:05 a.m., someone stole a pocketbook from her unlocked car that was parked at Front Street and N. Park Avenue.

On April 12, a woman from Island Park reported to police that between April 11 at 1:30 a.m. and later that day, at 1 p.m., someone stole her 1998 Mazda from the driveway of a N. Forest Avenue home. The vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys in it. Her vehicle was later recovered and impounded in Long Beach.

A Lynbrook resident reported to police on April 13 that someone used her Chase Bank debit/credit card to make purchases that totaled $2,816 without her permission.

Also on April 13, a Manhattan woman told police that between April 13 at 1 p.m. and later that day, at 1:45 p.m., someone stole an Apple laptop computer from her unlocked car while it was parked on Walnut Avenue.

On April 16, a woman from Woodmere told police that someone took her pocketbook from a friend's car that was parked in Municipal Parking Field 16 while they were in McFadden's Bar, 210 Merrick Road..

A woman from Maine Avenue told police that someone stole her wallet while she was at the King Kullen supermarket, 127 Sunrise Highway, between 3: 30 p.m. and 5:09 p.m. on April 17.

On April 18, at 3: 30 a.m., a woman from Wantagh reported to police that a male acquaintance from Locust Avenue, Seaford, stole her pocketbook and used her debit card without permission while she was at McFadden's Bar.

On April 18, a women from Oceanside reported to police that her purse and its contents were stolen between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. while she was at McFadden's Bar.

Unusual incidents

On April 15, the owner of a 70 Randall Ave. jewelry company told police that someone cashed a fake check against a Bank of America account in the amount of $7,428.15.

Investigation

On April 14, two pit bull dogs were removed by the Town of Hempstead Animal Control Division from the garage of a condemned home on Water Street. The owner of the property reported that no one is currently living there and he does not know who owns the animals.
