People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

A 17-year-old Freeport teen was arrested near Greystone and Winding roads on March 25 and charged with attempted grand larceny, petit larceny, possession of burglar’s tools and VTL violations following a police investigation in Municipal Parking Field 21.

Oscar Velasquez, 19, of Freeport was arrested on March 25 in the vicinity of Greystone and Winding roads and charged with attempted grand larceny, petit larceny and possession of burglar’s tools after a police investigation in Municipal Parking Field 21.

Juan Delacruz, 18, of Freeport was arrested near Greystone and Winding roads on March 25 and charged with attempted grand larceny, petit larceny and possession of burglar’s tools after a police investigation in Municipal Parking Field 21.

Bernardino A. Orellana, 18, of Baldwin was arrested on March 27 and charged with harassment, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment after a reported incident that occurred at the Gulf station on Sunrise Highway.

Joseph Howard, 26, of Rockville Centre, was arrested on March 26 and charged with driving while intoxicated on Long Beach Road in Oceanside.

Assault

A Cedar Avenue resident reported to police on March 26 that two acquaintances assaulted him while he was near Sunrise Highway and N. Park Avenue, resulting in a chipped tooth and a laceration to his head that required staples.
