People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrest

A 27-year-old man from N. Ocean Avenue, Center Moriches was arrested on Feb. 7 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, criminal possession of a controlled substance and VTL violations following a police investigation at Long Beach Road and Merrick Road.

Assault

A resident of Central Avenue, Baldwin reported on Feb. 12 that someone assaulted him while in front of Beach House Bar at 21 S. Park Ave., Rockville Centre.

Larcenies

A resident of Whitehall Road, Rockville Centre reported on Feb. 8 that someone broke the rear passenger side window of his 2009 Hyundai and stole a Garmin GPS valued at $300 while it was parked at his residence. The broken window was valued at $200.

A resident of Harris Drive, Oceanside reported that a former employee stole his son’s cell phone from a table at Blue Moon Restaurant at 26 N. Park Ave., Rockville Centre.

The following day, an assistant manager of the CVS Pharmacy, located at 598 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre, reported that two men and two women attempted to steal 40 boxes of Mucinex, valued at $952.20.

Unusual incident

A resident of Raymond Street, Rockville Centre reported on Feb. 7 that someone made unauthorized purchases on her American Express account totaling $220.

ID theft

A resident of Rockaway Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on Feb. 6 that someone opened an AT&T cell phone account in his name without authorization, causing a balance of $294.64.
