People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

A 29-year-old Corona man was arrested on Jan. 6 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL violations after an investigation at the intersection of Merrick Road and N. Centre Avenue.

The following day, 22-year-old man from Rosedale, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL violations after an investigation on Sunrise Highway.

Assaults

A resident of Cornell Street, Hempstead reported that someone assaulted him with a glass bottle on Jan. 4, causing facial lacerations, while in the vicinity of Old Mill Court.

A resident of Harvard Avenue, Lynbrook, reported on Jan. 8 that an acquaintance punched him while in front of 13 N. Park Ave, resulting in a laceration to the nose.

Larcenies

A resident of Hillside Avenue, Rockville Centre, reported on Jan. 8 that someone stole a Citibank MasterCard from his unlocked 2007 Honda while it was parked at his residence.

A resident of Hillside Avenue, Rockville Centre, reported the same day that someone stole a Sirius Radio receiver from his unlocked 2007 Toyota while it was parked at the South Side Middle School parking lot.

Property damage

A resident of Rockaway Park reported on Jan. 6 that the driver side mirror of his 2012 Nissan, valued at $400, was damaged while parked in front of 100 N. Village Ave.

A resident of Grand Avenue, Rockville Centre, reported on Jan. 8 that someone damaged two fence posts valued at $200 total.

Property found

Police recovered an abandoned Magna mountain bicycle in the parking lot of 150 N. Centre Avenue, Rockville Centre.

Property lost

A resident of Spencer Avenue, Lynbrook, reported that her iPhone, valued at $200, was lost or stolen while at Sky Athletic Club, at 310 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre.
