People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

A 62-year-old Lakeview man was arrested on Feb. 16 for a Nassau County bench warrant for criminal trespass after an investigation by police at 1 College Place, Rockville Centre.

A 29-year-old Long Beach man was arrested on Feb. 19 and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlicensed operation after an investigation on Ongley Street and N. Long Beach Road.

A 42-year-old man from, of New York Avenue, Oceanside was arrested on Feb. 19 and charged with driving while intoxicated and VTL violations after an investigation at Sunrise Highway and N. Marion Place.

A 28-year-old woman from Biltmore Avenue, Elmont was arrested on Feb. 22 and charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing after police said she threatened two victims with a kitchen knife at Wings and Things, 519 Fulton Ave. in Hempstead. She allegedly then took keys to a 1999 Mercedes Benz from one of the victims and fled the scene. Officers later arrested her in the parking lot of Mercy Medical Center.

A 39-year-old Rockville Centre woman was arrested at 6:17 a.m. on Feb. 22 on the eastbound side of the Southern State Parkway near Franklin Avenue in North Lynbrook after being involved in a one-car accident. Police said she was found to have twice the legal limit of alcohol in her system. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and other traffic violations. She is due to appear in First District Court in Hempstead on March 9.

Larcenies

A resident of N. Centre Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on Feb. 14 that someone stole her wallet from a shopping cart while at Rite Aid, 168 N. Village Ave., Rockville Centre.

The next day, a manager of Wild Ginger, 424 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre, reported that a restaurant employee stole $743.7 and a $50 gift card during his shift as a waiter.
