Championships are a tribute to the village

To the Editor:

South Side High School is truly soccer country. The boys’ soccer team captured the Nassau County championship, defeating previously undefeated Garden City in double overtime. The Lady Cyclones soccer team captured the county and Long Island Class A championships as well as the state Class A championship for the 15th time. The athletic achievements of both of these teams are truly remarkable.

I would like to congratulate the coaches for these championship teams as well as their staffs for all of their hard work and dedication. I also thank the school board, district superintendent, athletic department, teachers, parents and students for supporting these worthwhile athletic programs. Most of all, I congratulate the players on these teams for bringing these titles home to South Side High.

These championships are representative of the positive and constructive achievements of our youth and are a tribute to the school, the district and the athletes. Such activities should be supported and nurtured by the community.

Honored to serve

To the Editor:

I would like to thank the wonderful residents of Nassau County for their support on Election Day. I am honored and privileged to have been re-elected to serve as your county clerk. I would also like to thank the many volunteers, colleagues, neighbors and friends who gave so much of their time and effort in support of my re-election.

In my years as a public servant, I have advocated for government that is accountable and accessible. Since becoming county clerk, I have sought to both modernize and personalize the services provided to the thousands of residents who interact with my office. Your support has enabled me to continue my work to provide sound government service on your behalf, for which I am truly grateful.

Again, my heartfelt thanks for your continued support.

Strive for clean, classic look

To the Editor:

I would like to see store owners keep their property, front and back, clean and neat, including dumpsters.
