Rockville Centre physician celebrates a silver anniversary

When Dr. Neil B. Kirschen began his pain management practice 25 years ago, pain management was a concept that few people had heard of.

Since then, Kirschen’s practice, Pain Management Center of Long Island in Rockville Centre, has greatly expanded its offerings and recently opened a second location in Port Jefferson. But Kirschen and his staff remain true to their original mission of helping those who suffer from chronic or acute pain and offering proven methods for effective pain management, control and relief. The center’s multidisciplinary approach incorporates both conventional Western medicine and time-honored Eastern medicine with a customized treatment plan that heals the total person — physically, emotionally and spiritually.

“When I first started practicing pain management methods 25 years ago, no other practitioner combined Western medical techniques with Eastern medical philosophies,” Kirschen said. “This combination has proven so effective that many other doctors across the country are now integrating similar techniques with great success.
