Rockville Centre realtor offers innovative tours

In an effort to take advantage of the warm summer weather, Coach Realtors has grouped similar houses for prospective homeowners to see on its “Twilight Tours” on Thursday nights.

This is the third year that Coach Realtors has held these weeknight summer open houses, and they are constantly updating the idea to draw more interested parties.

“The original thought behind it was to think outside the box and do something different,” said Coach Realtor’s Branch Manager Carol O’Leary. “We’ve also experienced other real estate offices in our area jump in on it. At first, other advertisers would just put their houses on tour, but this past week another advertiser joined in.”

This summer, the tour took on a new look, with different nights designed to focus on a specific aspect that would interest certain buyers. Coach Realtors held a “luxury tour,” for homes that were over $950,000.

“By having it grouped that way, the buyers can see the competition in the same price range,” O’Leary said. “It kind of makes it a more even playing field.”

After that, the real estate agents held a tour for the next price level down, showing houses in the range of $700,000 to $950,000. From there, they held a “pool party tour,” with homes that came with swimming pools. Finally, they held a tour for homes under the $700,000 mark.

They also held a property tour in Malverne and plan to hold at least one more tour focused on co-ops.

Coach Realtors decided to have the tours on Thursday nights because they believed that most people have other plans during the summer weekends and it allows them to take advantage of late sunsets.

“There are probably between 20 to 25 people averaging on the tour,” O’Leary said. “The feedback that we get from the public is that they appreciate it an see the benefit of it. It is something we would continue to do as long as people are interested.”

Coach Realtors will continue the Thursday tours through Aug. 23.
