Rockville Centre student make prom dress connection

Jenna Mantell, left, Jenna Talesnick and Emily Wiener collected over 200 dresses to donate to the Prom Dress event sponsored by the Long Island Volunteer Center on May 8 at the Hagedorn Family Resource Center in Hempstead. They also organized the donations and assisted at the giveaway event, where 720 girls found dresses for their special day.

The girls want to thank everyone who donated dresses, shoes and accessories and to the drop off hosts: The Rockville Centre Recreation Center, The Rockville Centre Library and the Oceanside JCC. They also thank Cooky's Thrift shop and Dahlia Cohen, seamstress and designer, who donated many beautiful dresses, as well as Rave Cleaners and Lisa Mack.
