Rockville Racquet razed for Avalon

Posted

The Rockville Racquet Club building was recently torn down to make way for the AvalonBay Phase II development. The building was purchased by AvalonBay early last year as a site for the developer’s expansion of its Rockville Centre apartment complex. The Phase II development is expected to have more than 100 new units, and will include studio apartments as well as one- and two-bedroom units. The site was chosen not only because the building was for sale, but because it is directly across the street from the original Rockville Centre AvalonBay development, which can be seen in the background.
