In a visit sponsored by the Merrick Chamber of Commerce, Santa Claus recently made his way to Merrick to spread holiday cheer. Above, he was joined by Jack Keene, 6, brother Sean, 4, and sister Megan, 2, at the gazebo in downtown Merrick.

The holiday season is here, and Merokeans are suddenly finding themselves full of Christmas, Hannukah and Kwanzaa spirit. The Merrick Chamber of Commerce helped spread Christmas cheer by arranging its annual Santa Claus visit in Merrick on Saturday.
After being dropped off by the Merrick Fire Department, Jolly Ol’ St. Nick made his way to the gazebo on Merrick Avenue in downtown Merrick, and listened to the wishes of young boys and girls. Following his visit, Santa promptly returned to the North Pole to prepare Christmas gifts.
