Saturday shopping under the sky

Posted

Hundreds of residents from Valley Stream and surrounding communities flocked to the Hendrickson Pool parking lot last Saturday for the Lions Club’s annual flea market. Dozens of vendors set up shop to sell a variety of items including toys, collectibles, antiques, clothing, jewelry and more.

With the feel of fall in the air, the Lions Club sold pumpkins and mums. Volunteers from the club spent the day helping out however they could. “It’s the hardest working day of the year for us and it always comes through without a hitch,” said Lions Club President Jose Pastrana. “It’s always nice to be out there with the community.”

Money raised from the flea market will go toward the Lions Club’s various charitable initiatives.
