The Merrick, North Merrick and Bellmore-Merrick Central school districts opened their doors and welcomed back students for the 2011-12 academic year on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
At Fayette School in North Merrick, the day was full of excitement and anticipation, as eager upperclassmen waved goodbye to their parents, while incoming kindergartners clung to their parents’ legs, anxious over their first-ever day of school.
