Sewanhaka students excel in Italian exam

New Hyde Park Memorial High School’s Italian language students participated in the annual Italian National Examination.

More than 5,500 students from 140 schools in the nation participated in this year’s exam, which assesses the students’ knowledge of the Italian language and culture. The New Hyde Park Worlds Languages’ Department had three students place in the top percentile.

Eighth-grader Aisha Abdelhamid and junior Millena Skugor each received $100 for their achievements. Junior John Stampfli was awarded $50 for his accomplishment.
