Dr. Michael S. Shreck, a Lido Beach resident and periodontist with a practice in New Hyde Park, will took the president of the 1,550-member Nassau County Dental Society on Jan. 1. His installation ceremony will be at The Sands in Lido Beach on Jan. 9.

In addition to his busy specialty practice, Shreck teaches at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and he founded the Society’s award winning Give Kids A Smile Day, held on the first Friday in February at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Nassau County. More than 1200 children from underserved school districts are examined and educated about good oral health habits by volunteer dentists at this program.

Founded in 1948, the Nassau County Dental Society encourages the improvement of the health of the public, to promote the art and science of dentistry, and to represent the interests of the members of the profession and the public which its members serve.
