Sophomores take Class Night at Lynbrook High

82nd annual event featured favorite 'villains'

Now in its 82nd year, Class Skit Night at Lynbrook High School has become one of the most anticipated and well-attended events of the year. Students worked for weeks, creating their own original scripts, costumes, theme boxes, sets and choreography, entertaining family and fellow classmates with their energy, originality and humor.

This year’s theme was “Villains.” For their skit, the senior class chose The Joker from “Batman.” The juniors relived a childhood favorite with their choice of Dr. Seuss’s classic villain, The Grinch. Sophomores brought the evil Jafar from “Aladdin” to life, while freshmen portrayed the Wicked Witch of the West from “The Wizard of Oz.”

Skits were judged by five separate criteria: skits, scenery, costumes, box and banner. The sophomore class staged an upset victory over the seniors — a feat not accomplished since 1982.
