Long Beach High School senior Ebonee Fagan earned the Central Nassau Club’s JonVie Alexis Morales Memorial Scholarship Award, based on her essay, “My Role in the America of Tomorrow.” She was invited to attend the Club’s Founders’ Awareness Program 2015, where she was presented with the award. Fagan’s entry focused on her personal life experiences prior to her coming to Long Island at the age of thirteen

An International Baccalaureate Diploma Program candidate, she serves as treasurer of her class and participates in the Senior Class Club and Student Organization. She is also a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and was on the varsity track team in previous years. Fagan hopes to pursue a fashion merchandising major in college, with a minor in dance.

The Central Nassau Club is part of the National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc., a non-profit organization with the objective of promoting and protecting the interests of African American women business owners and professionals. Part of the group’s mission is to serve as a bridge for young people seeking to enter business and the professions.
